Be the Best Friend of Your Own Breasts: Join the “Check Your Chest” Challenge with Savage X Fenty
Each year in the United States, about 264,000 cases of breast cancer are diagnosed in women and about 42,000 of them die per year due to the cancer.(CDC, 2022). Most breast cancers are found in women who are 50 years old or older, but breast cancer also affects younger women and in 2020 alone, more than 12,000 women younger than 40 were estimated to get diagnosis with breast cancer(Cafasso, 2021).
When it comes to your body, we take it super seriously. While you might not be able to prevent breast cancer, early detection can increase your chance of successful treatment. Performing a monthly breast self-check improves the chances of detecting breast cancer at an early stage, which leads to a higher chance of full recovery.
In partnership with Clara Lionel Foundation (CLF) and Keep a Breast Foundation, we launched the “Check Your Chest” challenge to encourage every single one of you to check your breasts and chests for lumps every month. It only takes a few minutes to check and we’ll release monthly winners for our Breast Cancer Awareness collection when you record your breast conditions each month on the Savage X Fenty app portal. For the ladies who keep the habit for six months, we will send you a free bra from the Breast Cancer Awareness collection.
So, how do we check our breasts by ourselves? The simple formula is Touch, Look, and Check:
Touch your breasts;
Look for changes;
Check anything new or unusual with a GP;
Here is a simple illustration that could help you get a better understanding of how to perform the breast self-exam:

Savage X Fenty will also donate $500,000 every year to the Clara Lionel Foundation (CLF), to help fund critical research and support members of the Black community who have been diagnosed with breast cancer when many of them are facing significant barriers in the medical system and often underrepresented by the health care system.
